Dyad v1.22.0 Beta 1 prevents Neon backup branches from accumulating and improves stability and performance for large chat histories.
Highlights
Neon backup branch cleanup
When you undo to a version that includes a database snapshot, Neon keeps a backup of your development database as a separate branch. Previously, Dyad couldn't delete these backups, so one piled up in your Neon project with every undo.
- New Neon apps now delete their backups automatically.
- Existing Neon apps show a banner above the preview saying the database uses a legacy setup. Click Migrate to move your development database to a new branch. Dyad deletes the old backups, and future undos clean up after themselves.
Before migrating, Dyad saves a copy of your development data on your computer. After migrating, earlier versions can no longer restore the database, and your app's users may need to sign in again.
Why we recommend migrating
Each leftover backup branch counts toward your Neon plan's branch limit. This mostly matters if you undo database changes often:
- Free plan: projects allow 10 branches. Once a project is full, undo still restores your code but can't restore the database. If that happens, upgrade temporarily, migrate, then switch back to Free.
- Paid plans: branches beyond your plan's allowance (10 on Launch, 25 on Scale) cost $1.50 per branch per month. See Neon pricing.
Migrating removes the leftover backups and keeps new ones from building up.
Improved stability and performance
Large chats are now less likely to run out of memory when sending messages or displaying large MCP tool calls.
The sidebar also renders long chat histories more efficiently, improving responsiveness for apps with many chats.
Enhancements & fixes
- Requests for user input now remain pending until you respond, preventing them from being cleared while Dyad waits for confirmation or additional information.
- Added French as an interface language and completed missing Brazilian Portuguese translations.
- Self-hosted GitLab connections now work more reliably, with underlying connection failures displayed in the interface and logs.
- Fixed older GitHub connections incorrectly reporting that your latest commit is not on GitHub after a successful sync.
- Reduced the risk of excessive app logs causing Dyad to become unresponsive.
- Fixed scrollbar flickering during guided deployments.
- Improved numbered-list formatting in model responses.
- Session uploads now include native crash stack traces to help diagnose issues.
- The Create GitHub issue button now remains visible while reviewing bug report details.
