0.16.0 Beta 1
Experimental Portal template - undoable database, admin dashboard and more!
Dyad v0.16.0 Beta introduces the Portal template—our most sophisticated template yet, designed for building business applications with advanced user roles and permissions. Built on Neon DB, it supports undo for database changes and much more!
Highlights
Portal Template (Experimental)
The Portal template is now available as an experimental feature and provides several exciting capabilities:
- Undoable database - because Portal is powered by Neon DB, you can undo database changes with a single click.
- Prebuilt admin panel - if you want a separate UI for admin users (e.g., employees), then Portal makes this much easier thanks to its foundation of Payload CMS. You can manage content or database records in an admin UI.
- Safe database workflows - if you want to avoid breaking your live database while developing your app, the Portal template gives you the option of having a separate production database that you can safely update rather than making changes to it during development.

The Portal template is available as experimental. It's not yet ready for production-usage, but please report any bugs and we'll fix them.
Other changes
- Qwen3 Coder has been added under OpenRouter - Qwen3 Coder is a powerful open-source coding model.
- Smart Context can now read shadcn UI component files (fixes #768), let me know if you have suggestions on handling non-Smart Context use cases!
Feedback
The Portal template represents a significant step forward in Dyad's capabilities. As an experimental feature, your feedback is crucial for making it production-ready. Please report any issues and upload chat sessions to help us refine this new template.
