Plan Mode chat choice and longer sandbox execution time

Dyad v1.3.0 Beta 2 is a small beta release focused on improving a couple of issues from v1.3.0 Beta 1. It adds a Plan Mode chat choice, gives complex sandbox tasks more time to finish, and includes a few fixes and improvements.

Highlights

Choose how Plan Mode opens

When switching to Plan Mode, Dyad now lets you choose whether to start a new chat or continue in the current chat.

Use a new chat when you want to explore a plan separately from your current work, or keep the same chat when the plan should stay attached to the existing conversation and app context.

Longer sandbox execution time

Dyad now gives sandbox executions more time to complete.

This helps with more complex tasks that need to run longer commands, process more files, or perform multiple steps before returning a result.

Enhancements

  • Added an experimental BM25 MCP tool search option to improve MCP tool selection in workflows with many available tools.
  • Improved template application so generated workspace changes are ignored, reducing noisy or unintended file changes.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen when closing or switching files in the code editor.

Feedback

This is a beta release, so feedback is especially helpful—particularly around the Plan Mode chat choice, longer sandbox execution time, MCP tool search experiment, and file editor stability.

If you run into issues or have suggestions, please help us improve by reporting a bug or uploading a chat session.
