Dyad v0.42.0 Beta 1 adds searchable version history with highlighted matches, image generation directly from chat, improved performance, and a new option to choose where Dyad apps are saved.

Highlights

Search version history with highlighted matches

This release adds search to version history, making it easier to find the version you want when you’re working through a longer list of changes.

Matching results are now also highlighted in the version panel, so it’s easier to scan for the exact release or keyword you were looking for.

Generate images directly from chat

Dyad now supports image generation directly from chat.

This makes it easier to create images as part of your normal app-building flow, without needing to switch contexts while working on prompts and app changes.

Improved performance for large codebases

Dyad now handles large codebases significantly faster. If you're still experiencing sluggish performance, please let us know and report a bug or upload a chat session.

Choose where Dyad apps are saved

You can now choose which directory Dyad saves apps in.

This gives you more control over how your apps are organized, which is useful if you want to keep Dyad projects in a specific workspace or storage location.

Enhancements

• Fixed the View plan button so it works correctly in cases where it was previously non-functional.
• Fixed an issue where you couldn’t type into inputs in the Context Files Picker dialog.
• Improved handling for canceled messages so they are excluded more cleanly in chat flows.
• Improved stream retry replay for parallel tool results, reducing confusion in some retry scenarios.
• Fixed project hover visibility for clearer project list interactions.
